3D ULTRASOUND AND NEURONAVIGATION

The course will provide an introduction to ultrasound imaging and navigation basics with particular emphasis on clinical examples and ultrasound image interpretation. After completing the course you will know how to navigate surgical instrument and perform resection guidance and control using 3D ultrasound and neuronavigation. Special topics covered in the course will be:

  • Basic principles of ultrasound imaging
  • Basic principles of neuronavigation
  • 3D ultrasound acquisition
  • Image guided resection based on 3D ultrasound
  • Interpreting ultrasound images of the brain
  • Clinical experiences in using 3D ultrasound and neuronavigation
  • Hands on session and training with the SonoWand Invite system
