Fields of research

The electrical power system is crucial to the ultimate development of tomorrow’s energy systems. Sintef’s Electricity Power Generation department is currently working on several key research challenges linked to the development of more renewable electricity sources, the electrification of transport systems and the promotion of end-user flexibility.

This development must take place within the framework of a reliable and cost-effective system which meets the needs of its end-users. Our projects are carried out in close collaboration with key industrial and research organisations, both in Norway and overseas.
