Product approval

SINTEF NBL is engaged in all kind of problems related to fire, for example fire related properties for construction products.

Documentation of the fire technical properties of a product requires that the product is tested according to an approved standard. The requirements are for instance related to safety or it can be environmental requirements.

SINTEF NBL has laboratory equipment to test a number of the product properties.
 
SINTEF NBL is accepted by several national- and international authorities for certification or approval of products. See more information about Notifications.

    SINTEF Product Documentation is a document issued by SINTEF NBL confirming that the product has the quality that satisfies the national requirements.
CE mark   CE-mark is an evidence that a product fulfil the requirements stated in the Construction Product Directive (CPD) and specified in European technical specifications, and enable free trade in Europe (EEA–countries).
Wheel-mark for marine equipment   Wheel-mark is a certification system for marine equipment which is required for free trade in Europe (EEA–countries).
    DSB-approval of smoke detectors is a national validating system which SINTEF NBL is responsible for on behalf of the National Office of Building Technology and Administration (DSB).
    SNR-approval of smoke detectors is a document where SINTEF NBL certifies that all quality control requirements specified in NS-EN 14604: 2005 are met for a specified smoke detektor. Learn more about SNR approval.
    Type approval of fireworks is a national validating system. 
SINTEF NBL will also perform an annual inspection of all importers of approved fireworks.
